If you've ever felt completely confused by all the fabrics and tools inside the your local quilt shop, or you've been collecting all those pretty Fat Quarters for a while but don't know how to to actually turn them into a quilt, then join me for this completely free masterclass where I’ll be teaching you exactly what you need, how to start and where to get started.

I’ll take you through:
  • Exactly what you need to get started;
  • What you DON’T need to buy;
  • The type of quilter you could be;
  • What kind of thread and fabric you need (they’re not all created equal!) and the most trusted brands;
  • What sewing machine feet you need (and my nifty hack to not have to buy one of them);
  • The types of sewing machines that are best for quilting (did you know the average quilter owns at least FOUR sewing machines?!), and why you probably already have the perfect one for right now;
  • A few different quilting terms so you can feel completely confident (even if not completely confident, you’ll feel a little less in the dark) when you’re shopping for supplies.
  • The biggest mistake newcomers make when they want to learn patchwork & quilting, and how YOU can avoid it.
  • And how you can get started quickly and simply.

About Your Tutor: Kim Reynolds

I’ve been sewing for 45 years and found my sewing home in the world of quilting just over a decade ago.

From my very first tentative go at cutting out my fabric for my first quilt (terrifying!) to stitching up my first block, I have never looked back.

I’ve since completed and passed my City and Guilds Level 3 in Patchwork and Quilting, and ran a high street shop in my local town  where I taught everything from beginners patchwork to advanced quilting techniques for two years before the crippling costs of running a high street shop got the better of me. Quite honestly, I was heartbroken: it was something I truly loved and I had made many amazing friends from my customers.

A year ago, after some vigorous prompting, nudging and various kicks up the rear from my husband and a couple of close friends, I came back to the world that I love the most, and this time doing nothing but teaching. I do hope you’ll join me on this incredible journey and let me help YOU get started with this wonderful hobby.

Love,
Kim
